We meet to worship and rejoice in who God is, all He has done in creation, and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in the
importance of following the teaching of God’s Word – the Bible, the value of believing prayer, and trust in the power of God’s Holy Spirit working in us.
When we come together we celebrate His goodness and are shaped by His Word and empowered by His Holy Spirit. Together we want to learn what it
means to live lives that are faithful to Jesus Christ throughout the whole of life. Our aim is to be a welcoming and caring Christian family helping people to
grow in faith and enabling them to share the good news about Jesus.

We believe in the importance of following the teaching of God’s word - the Bible, the value of believing prayer, and trust in the power of
God’s Holy Spirit working in us to do much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of. In an ever changing world we are challenged to
find ways of expressing our Christian faith in ways that can bring transformation and hope within our local community.

LOOK to the lord and His strength
SEEK His face always
REMEMBER the wonders He has
done
Where possible we try to work together with other local Christian Churches responding, as God inspires us, to the needs
we see around us.
We are members of Churches Together for Chipping Barnet who support projects such as a Winter Night Shelter,
Christians against Poverty (CAP) and events where we can witness together.
‘I both hold and am held’.
This is the translation of the Latin phrase ‘et teneo et teneor’ which is part of stained
glass window at the front of our church. It is also seen at the Spurgeons Baptist
College and is used as their motto.
In his autobiography, CH Spurgeon puts it this way:
“Our desire is that every man (and women) may both hold the Truth, and be held
by it; especially the truth of Christ crucified”
There may be times when you are holding on with a thread and your ability to hold anyone else feels weak. In these
moments, the being held seems stronger and more important. At others you may feel confident in the cross and don’t
sense the holding needing to be as great because it is somehow easy, and yet of course Jesus’ strength and holding
power remains the same in both circumstances and every circumstance in between.
Our Mission is:
“To know Christ and to make Him known”
